Fear

Another thought from the book, "To walk on the water, you got to get out of the boat." The single command in scripture that occurs more often than any other is God's most repeated instruction..."FEAR NOT." It has been stated that verses in scripture with "fear not" in them numbers 366 times. Is it possible that God uses this term so often because we as humans are tempted to avoid doing what God askes us to do because of fear? Fear will sink us faster than anything else we feel. I t disrupts our faith and becomes the biggest obstacle to trusting and obeying God. The way we live is a consequence of the size of our God. The problem that many of us have is that our God is WAY TOO small. We are not convinced that we are absolutely safe in the hands of a fully competent, all-knowing and ever-present God. If we wake up in the mornings with a small God then we live in a constant state of fear and anxiety because EVERYTHING depends on us!!! When human beings shrink God, they offer prayer without faith, work without passion, service without joy, suffering without hope. It results in fear, loss of vision, and failure to persevere. So...tonight lets all vow to Fear Not! Believe in our mighty God and WORK with service, PRAY in faith, PROVIDE service with a passion and even in suffering....NEVER loose HOPE!!!! In these difficult days remember not to let anyone or anything steal your JOY!!! Have a blessed weekend and for those of you who know Julie Westbrook.....PRAISE GOD!!! :)
